Field Notes: 3 Autumn Herbs for Seasonal Balance
Apothecary Field Notes
Three botanical allies for the autumn transition.
As morning mist settles over our South Carolina fields, the cooler air calls for herbs that ground the body and support vitality. This season, we turn our attention to three plants cultivated, dried, and blended by hand right here on our farm.

01
Ginger Rhizome (Zingiber officinale)
Grown in our rich coastal soil, our ginger is carefully harvested late in the season when the essential oils are most concentrated. Traditional wellness values ginger for its warming digestive fire and circulatory support during brisk days.
We slice the rhizomes thin and air-dry them in small batches to preserve their pungent spice, giving our warming autumn blends their signature comforting depth.
02
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)
Lemon Balm thrives in our mid-morning sun. We hand-pick the fragrant leaves just before flowering when the aromatic citral compounds peak, offering gentle nervous system nourishment and tranquil balance.
Dried slowly in our solar-assisted curing barn, it brings a bright, restorative citrus aroma to our afternoon and evening infusion cups.

03
Mullein Leaf (Verbascum thapsus)
A cornerstone of traditional herbalism, velvety mullein leaves are prized for supporting clear, comfortable respiratory function as seasonal temperatures fluctuate.
We hand-strip and gentle-tumble every leaf on-site, ensuring a pure, soothing base for our signature restorative seasonal blends.
